SUMMARY:10th HAEE Energy Transition Symposium 3-5/06/2025
DESCRIPTION:The 10th HAEE Energy Transition Symposium was a three-day event organized by the Hellenic Association for Energy Economics (HAEE) and partnered and kindly supported by the Hellenic Spanish Chamber of Commerce. Held from June 3-5 in Athens at the Maroussi Plaza Centre\, under the theme “A Decade of Energy Transition: Adapting for Tomorrow”\, it was focused on key issues surrounding Europe’s energy future.  \n\nThroughout the event\, a diverse range of speakers addressed the complexities of the energy transition. Discussions included a one-on-one with Minister Ioannis Kefalogiannis on integrating resilience into Greece’s energy infrastructure\, and keynotes from the Chinese and UK Ambassadors to Greece\, Fang Qiuand Matthew Lodge\, who highlighted international cooperation and national strategies for decarbonization. The Dutch and French Ambassadors\, Susanna Terstal and Laurence Auer\, also provided insights on offshore wind collaboration and Franco-Hellenic cooperation\, respectively. \nOther sessions delved into specific topics\, such as the pace of Europe’s energy transition\, the development of Greece’s offshore wind sector\, and the role of green innovation and waste-to-value technologies. The Greek Energy Market Report 2025 was presented\, and discussions covered critical issues like grid integration\, EU industry competitiveness\, and the evolving role of natural gas. The symposium also explored emerging technologies\, including hydrogen\, alternative fuels\, and the application of AI in the energy sector. Discussions also focused on regional cooperation\, with sessions dedicated to Greece’s role as a Southeast European energy hub. \nThe event concluded with a look at the future of Greek energy leadership and the importance of infrastructure\, market connectivity\, and strategic investment to drive the energy transition forward. \n\n

DESCRIPTION:The Spanish Labour\, Migration and Social Security Counsellor’s Office \, together with Hellenic-Spanish Chamber of Commerce\, the Association Hispano Helena and the Instituto Cervantes organized an event on June 25 regading the presentation of the Inclusion and Support Program for Spaniards Residing in Greece\, held at the Instituto Cervantes in Athens. \nThe event featured the participation of the Ambassador of Spain Domecq Fernández de Bobadilla\, representatives from the Ministry of Inclusion\, Social Security and Migration of Spain\, including Subsecretary of Inclusion\, Social Security and Migration\, Cristina Asacia Navarro Enterría\, Director General for Spanish Citizens Abroad and Return Policies\, Elena Bernardo Llorente; Labour and Social Security Counsellor\, Javier Aibar Bernard; Technical Advisor\,   Ludia Vasilalakis\, and Counselor of the Spanish Embassy Elena Pérez-Villanueva del Caz. \nThe event was structured in three sessions: an initial meeting with the Hellenic-Spanish Chamber of Commerce and the Association Hispano Helena to better understand the needs and priorities of the Spanish community in Greece; a roundtable with companies that are members of the Chamber and actively supporting the project; and finally\, a public presentation of the program for the broader Spanish community residing in Greece. \nThe sessions provided valuable insights into the initiatives and support mechanisms available to the Spanish community abroad\, highlighting the importance of institutional backing and the strengthening of ties with the diaspora. \nWe sincerely thank the organizers and participants for their commitment to the well-being and inclusion of Spanish citizens in Greece. \nThank you very much to the Instituto Cervantes that kindly hosted the event. \n\n
